Completed music logs head to PlayoutONE, the HSRP’s automation software, where voice-tracked breaks are added and ultimately played on air.
PlayoutONE and WebVT
Industry-standard software to get the ideas from inside your head, to out and over-the air. Get an intro to PlayoutONE and it’s web-based voicetracking software WebVT:
PlayoutONE is radio automation software allowing radio stations both terrestrial and virtual to broadcast 24/7 without a live person in the studio. Stations are able to see all scheduled music, advertisements, jingles, and sweepers and insert their recorded voice easily and reliably to produce a seemless on-air product.
In these HSRP tutorial videos, you’ll learn how to use PlayoutONE to manipulate the music logs, add music, PSAs, news, and voicetrack your on-air breaks.

Uploading news - Option 2
While the “Triple Stack” video above is the easiest way to get a newscast onto the HSRP, it does require voice-tracking every news update in every hour you want it to air. Some schools may opt to record one or two news updates and replay them throughout a day or week. Here’s how we do that:
Record news update in Audacity (optional: load news open, music bed, news close in Audacity and edit within news update)
Save news update
In WebVT, open up Media Finder
Upload news update using NWS UID
Label news with date
Artist should be [High School] West or HSRP or whatever you want
Click calendar icon and select the day/hour you wish to insert news
In Media finder search for “NWS”
Drag newly recorded news update to bottom of the hour where previously scheduled news is
Delete old newscast
Repeat process for any other hours you want news to run
*if no news is scheduled, you would skip step 8 and just drag news update to white NEWS VT spot.

WebVT is where students will spend the majority of their time manipulating the music log, voicetracking their breaks, adding news, PSAs, etc. This section will give students the tools they need to get on the air!
